Feeney DesignRail® Modern Cable Railing Post Kits deliver the precision-engineered foundation for contemporary deck systems that prioritize clean lines and unobstructed views. Constructed from premium pre-drilled aluminum and protected with durable AAMA-2604 powder coating, these posts resist weathering while maintaining a refined aesthetic suitable for modern architectural designs. The comprehensive Modern post lineup accommodates virtually every installation scenario. End posts anchor and tension cable runs using CableRail Kits for Metal with either Threaded Terminal or Quick-Connect® fittings, available for both level (TT) and (QC) posts, and stair (QCS) bottom-stair post "requires QC beveled washers", (TTS) top-stair post "requires TT beveled washers". Quick-Connect® options streamline installation by eliminating complex threading procedures. (IN) Intermediate posts provide essential mid-span support without tensioning capability, ideal for longer horizontal cable runs. For sophisticated transitions, double termination posts (QCT-IN) Quick-Connect Intermediate Double Termination and (QCT-SC) Quick-Connect Single-Corner Double Termination posts have two sets of Quick-Connect fittings. Elegantly joining two separate cable runs on opposite or adjacent sides, creating seamless visual continuity while maintaining structural integrity. Standard 90-degree (SC) Single-Corner posts anchor cables from two adjacent sides, while (45) 45-degree Corner Posts accommodate clipped or angled deck edges, effectively turning the cable as it goes through the post. Newel posts transition cables around corners and down steps. (NP) Newel Passthrough Posts transition cable from level to stair by passing through the post with cable and "turning" it down the stairs. (NL) Newel-Left and (NR) Newel-Right posts transition from the left or right down a set of stairs. However, because of the compound angle, two sets of cables must be used. A level terminating (QC-fitting) will be on the inside of the NR and NL posts. The angled or stair component uses the (TT-fitting) of the cable kit, and will require a beveled washer. Stair-specific (INS) intermediate stair posts are used for mid-spans on the stairs, and the bottom of steps must use (QCS-posts) with a washer of the appropriate angle. For specialized or custom applications, (B) blank posts arrive reinforced and undrilled, allowing installers to customize hole placement and drilling patterns on-site. Proper post placement and cable tensioning are critical for both structural performance and building code compliance. Comprehensive installation guides and placement checklists ensure your system meets all safety requirements and performs reliably for years to come.
