Deck & Rail Supply - Shipping and Delivery Policy
Thank you for shopping with Deck & Rail Supply. We strive to deliver your decking and railing materials as safely and efficiently as possible. Please review our shipping rates, pickup guidelines, and delivery inspection procedures below.
1. Shipping Rates & Tiers
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on order totals. Our standard shipping rate structure is as follows:
Orders $5,499.99 and over: FREE Shipping (Note: Free shipping may be excluded from custom orders that contain Special Order items).
Orders Between $2,499.99 - $5,499.99: $299.99 Flat Rate Shipping
Orders Under $2499.99: $599.99 Flat Rate Shipping
Deck & Rail Supply reserves the right to alter or upgrade the shipping method purchased (e.g., moving an order from parcel to freight) at our discretion to ensure items are transported safely based on the shipping area and the specific items ordered.
2. Local Order Pickup Policy
Deck & Rail Supply offers a local pickup option at checkout for customers who prefer to retrieve their orders directly from our warehouse facility.
Fulfillment: If you select the "Pickup" method, your order will not be charged shipping fees, and you are responsible for physically loading and transporting the items from our designated location during normal operating hours.
Shipping Adjustments: Selecting the "Pickup" method on an order that actually requires shipment is strictly prohibited. Orders placed under the pickup designation will not be released or shipped until all standard shipping fees (based on the tiers in Section 1) are paid in full. Deck & Rail Supply reserves the right to cancel any such orders, subject to a deduction for non-refundable payment processing fees.
3. Parcel Shipping (Small Packages)
Smaller, lighter accessory items, hardware, and lighting components typically ship via standard parcel service.
Carriers: Parcel orders may ship via UPS, SpeeDee, FedEx, or USPS.
Tracking: Once your order is packaged and ready, a shipping confirmation email will be sent containing your tracking number and carrier details. You can monitor your shipment’s transit status directly through that link.
4. LTL Freight Delivery (Oversized & Heavy Items)
Due to the size, weight, and length of core decking and railing product lines, many orders must ship via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) commercial freight carriers.
Shipping Confirmation: Once your freight order is in the possession of the carrier, we will send a shipping confirmation email containing the carrier details, tracking/pro number, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and pre-shipment photos showing exactly how your order looked when it left our facility.
Liftgate Services Not Included: Standard freight delivery covers curbside transport only. Liftgate services are not included in our standard or flat-rate shipping. If you request or require liftgate service from the carrier to lower materials from the truck bed, any additional fees assessed by the carrier will be billed directly to the customer.
5. OS&D (Over, Short, & Damaged) Freight Inspection Rules
Per Section 13 of our Terms of Service, we do not warrant items for damages that occur while a third-party shipping company is in possession of them. To protect yourself against shipping damage or loss, you must follow these strict inspection steps upon delivery:
Compare to Pre-Shipment Photos: When the truck arrives, compare the physical pallet/crate to the pre-shipment photos sent in your shipping confirmation email. Note any tears in the shrink wrap, broken bands, or shifted boxes.
Document Discrepancies: Count the items and check for structural damage before signing for the delivery.
Note Damage on the Delivery Receipt: If any items are damaged, shorted, or incorrect, you must notify the driver and ensure the specific damage or shortage is written directly on the carrier's delivery receipt (Bill of Lading) before signing.
Take Photos: Take immediate, clear photographs of the damaged packaging and materials as they sit on or in the truck.
Report to Staff: Contact us at sales@deckandrailsupply.com within 48 hours of delivery with your photos and a copy of the noted delivery receipt so we can assist you in filing a carrier claim.
Important: Signing a delivery receipt cleanly without noting damages or shortages legally unburdens the carrier, meaning replacements or credits for transit damage cannot be issued.
6. Special Order Availability
Items purchased directly through our website reflect standard availability. Other specialized or custom layouts are processed via custom order. Custom orders may contain Special Order items, which are non-returnable, cannot be canceled after 1 hour, and require extended manufacturing/lead times (typically 4–6 weeks) before they are ready to ship.
