Why Contractors and DIYers Choose KeyLink

KeyLink cable railing isn't trying to reinvent the wheel; it's just doing things right. Manufactured in Pennsylvania by Superior Plastic Products, these rail systems are powder-coated in-house and built with the kind of attention to detail that actually shows up when you're doing the install.

What makes KeyLink aluminum railing stand out:

  • Superior material quality: This includes powder-coated aluminum that's designed to handle weather, not just provide aesthetic appeal
  • Sensible design: Rail kits come in standard lengths that you measure and cut on-site, giving you control over the final fit
  • Variety that matters: Choose from American, Chesapeake, and Outlook profiles depending on the look you're going for
  • Options for every project: Surface mount, fascia mount, horizontal cable, vertical cable, aluminum picket; whatever your space needs

The beauty of the KeyLink Horizontal Cable system lies in how all components work in harmony to create a stunning, unique space.

  1. Post Kits (The Foundation): Surface cable post kits and Fascia Cable Posts are available in a range of uses including: Line, Line Upgrade, End, Coroner, Stair Line, and Stair End.
  2. Rail Kits (The Cap): Deck mounted American or Chesapeake Horizontal Cable Series Rail Kits are attached to the cable deck posts, and include hardware and intermediate pickets. Intermediate pickets attach to the surface of decks or patios.
  3. Cable Infill (The View): Finally, the stainless steel cables are run through the pre-drilled holes in the posts. The specialized fittings are installed at the Termination Posts, tightened, and locked down, creating a strong, minimal barrier, utilizing either black or silver cable.

This engineered integration results in a low-maintenance, high-impact railing system that elevates the aesthetic of any deck, balcony, or porch, allowing you to fully enjoy your outdoor environment.

The Cable Railing Difference

KeyLink horizontal cable systems offer distinct advantages for modern outdoor spaces. You get clean sightlines, modern aesthetics, and that open feel that homeowners love, especially if you've got a view worth showing off. The American and Chesapeake horizontal cable options both use stainless steel cable that's built to withstand tension properly and stay that way.

For tighter code requirements or different design preferences, KeyLink vertical cable railing gives you the same quality with a different visual. Both options work with the modular post and bracket systems, so you're not locked into one look for your entire project.

Not Just Pretty, but Practical

One important practical consideration is that KeyLink rail systems are designed with installation in mind. Rail kits include the bracket-to-post hardware you need (though you might want extras for your specific layout, and we've got those too). Posts don't come with caps or flairs, which allows for greater flexibility as you're not paying for pieces you might not use.

Want an ADA-compliant graspable handrail? KeyLink has a round aluminum handrail that attaches to any of its posts. Need something specific for stairs? Their 36-inch stair rail kits handle the angles without making you improvise.
